In this type of style, the leader is more of a teacher or coach and it involves supervising or coaching the team members. This style is more modern and is commonly used in many organizations.

4. Strategic

This leadership style refers to the capability or potential of a leader to express their organization’s creative vision. They persuade the team members to pursue this vision using the right tools and strategies.

This style prepares team members to be well-equipped and well-trained for dealing with unforeseen threats and risks. This style fosters additional leaders.

5. Transformational

This is often thought of as among the most desirable and best styles of leadership. This style is all about using effective communication to create thriving work environment. But it demands intellectual stimulation and strategic vision for initiating change in the people in the organization and the leader.

This type of leadership puts its focus on setting some high goals with very strict deadlines, and then working together so that they are accomplished on time.

6. Laissez-faire

In this type of leadership style, the leader will delegate responsibility to the team members, then allow them to work with little to no interference.

This will provide the maximum amount of flexibility and innovation. It will work best for creative teams who have experienced and self-motivated individuals who don’t need much invigilance and supervision. A good example of this type of leader was Mahatma Gandhi. It was his belief that people will work best when they aren’t told what they should do but they are encouraged to work independently.

7. Charismatic

Leaders who have this type of leadership style are ones who smartly or automatically attract many people with their charisma and charm. They’re passionate, confident and self-motivated. This type of leadership style can be used for building a very powerful standing in marketplaces as well as gaining an enormous following of fans due to their self-image.

The issue is that this leadership style isn’t very favorable since the failure or success relies heavily on the impact of the leader. This is thought to be more of a 1-man show rather than a team effort.

8. Visionary

When someone has a visionary leadership style, you’re able to usher in change and drive progress. This is done by earning trust and inspiring the employees. Visionary leaders can establish strong bonds within the organization and foster confidence among colleagues and direct reports.

This leadership style is particularly helpful for fast-growing, small organizations and larger organizations that are going through corporate restructuring or transformations.

9. Servant

This style of leader has a mindset that puts people first. They believe that a team member who feels professionally and personally fulfilled, they’re going to be more effective and productive. These leaders often have more respect from their employees.
